Near Kathmandu on the 25th or April, 2015, 11:56 am there was a major earthquake measuring at 7.8 magnitude and 8.2 km deep. This earth was a thrust earthquake. A thrust earthquake is a crack in the earths crust where there has been relative movement, in which rocks of lower position are pushed up.
